Jamaica Ship Registry signs up new Greek Marketing Agency
The Jamaica Ship Registry got Posidonia off to a flying start by using this international shipping event as the perfect backdrop to sign up Adora Investments as its new marketing agency for the highly important Greek shipping market.
Adora Investments, which is headed up by Capt. Dimitris A. Lemos, has built up a strong reputation in the Greek ship broking and chartering sectors and will be a powerful tool in Jamaica’s efforts to sell the benefits of the Jamaica flag to the burgeoning Greek shipping market.
Welcoming the move, Bert Smith( ΜΕ ΚΥΚΛΟ ΣΤΗ ΦΩΤΟΓΡΑΦΙΑ) Director of Legal Affairs at the JSR in Kingston and who was attending the signing ceremony in Posidonia, said the Greek market remained a key area of focus for the Maritime Authority of Jamaica – the government body which operates the Jamaica flag – alongside traditional European markets of Germany, the Benelux and Scandinavia.
He said Capt. Lemos and his team would now start to sell the benefits of the Jamaican flag to the Greek ship owners – opportunities which included very favourable registration fees; a comprehensive network of technical inspectors around the world; an operating ethos which put quality above everything else and also an ability for foreign owners like the Greeks, to register their vessels under the Jamaican flag without having to form a company in Jamaica.
